Fearless Fund Africa officially launches on the continent

Building on the impact and legacy of the Fearless Fund in the United States, Fearless Fund Africa is dedicated to expanding access to capital for entrepreneurs across the continent, starting in Ghana. Through the launch of the Fearless Fund Africa Microfinance Fund, we are investing directly in local founders, supporting sustainable businesses, and strengthening local economies. This fund is designed exclusively for the continent, with a long-term vision to expand across African markets and support the next generation of fearless builders.

Why Africa?

Africa presents a transformative opportunity to advance women’s economic frontier. As home to one of the fastest-growing entrepreneurial ecosystems in the world our presence is decided to ensuring founders across the continent have the critical access to capital they need to build and scale.

Ghana ranks #1 globally, with 46.4% of businesses owned by women

Only 37% of women in sub-Saharan Africa have a bank account, compared to 48% of men—highlighting a formal financial access gap.
Women-led enterprises generate approximately $300 billion annually, contributing an estimated 16% of Africa’s GDP.
According to the World Bank, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) make up to 90 % of all businesses and roughly 60 % of employment across Africa
Women comprise up to 58 % of the continent’s self-employed workforce, collectively contributing around 13 % of Africa’s GDP through business activity.
